Scope and Contents
1903, 1943 and 1962 accounts of tramping the Whitcombe Pass.
The slides accompany the 1962 account, and there are also Rees Valley slides. There are also 1941 and 1945 accounts of tramps to the West Coast, one via Browning Pass and the other from Hamner to Otira via the Waiau, Hope, Kiwi, Hurunui and Taramakau Rivers.
Includes a copy of Jakob Lauper's Over the Whitcombe Pass, written in 1863 and reprinted in 1960.
Included are two copies of brief historical notes on the Invincible Gold Mine, Rees Valley.
