Meeting minutes in bound volumes for meetings of the Christchurch City Council from when it first began in 1862. These minutes are for the main Council meetings and do not include those of committees.

Between 1863 and 1910 an alphabetical subject index is included at the back of each volume. Between 1911-1988 there is a set of subject based index cards which include volume and page references to the minutes. Note that the index between 1977-1988 is less comprehensive than the earlier indexes and a lot of subjects are not included. There are no indexes available past 1988.
