Handwritten letter rom Thomas Conway of West Eyreton, Canterbury to his cousin dated December 27, 1896. In this letter he writes about the drought and difficult farming conditions in the Cust district, the difficulty in obtaining reliable workers, the cost of supplies, and his family.
