The papers of Thomas Atherton Ashton includes a photocopy of original passenger's ticket and a press clipping, May 1985, of extracts from Thomas Ashton's diary.

Also includes photocopies of voyage accounts relating to John Shipley Ellis, compiled by Ellis' grandson Edward Ellis titled A voyage in sail, 1881-1882. Includes passenger lists from the Waimate and the Sydenham.

Handwritten letter rom Thomas Conway of West Eyreton, Canterbury to his cousin dated December 27, 1896. In this letter he writes about the drought and difficult farming conditions in the Cust district, the difficulty in obtaining reliable workers, the cost of supplies, and his family.

Also includes 2 identical photographs of Ebenezer Conway's third child. Thomas was Ebenezer's brother. Photograph taken by J.G. Lamb, Christchurch.

Thomas Cooper Family History sheets. Two sheets, one detailing Thomas Cooper, Ann Hunter and children including daughter Sarah Ann Cooper. The other sheet lists Sarah Ann and her husband William Williams and their children. There is a handwritten note from 1808 with all the descendants of Thomas Cooper.

Thomas Dowling papers

The papers of Thomas Dowling, a farmer of the Oakleigh estate, Southbridge, consists of two letterbooks. The first letterbook contains letters dated from 1901 and 1902, the second letterbook contains letters dated from 1904 to 1908. The first volume includes some typed carbon copies of letters from 9 October 1901 to January 1902.
