Postcards are by A.B. Hurst and Son.

Photocopy of letter and envelope from Christopher George Hodgson to Charles Thomas Wills in London, Monday October 1st, 1855.

This letter relates that he lives 120 miles from town; presumably then Hurunui. The letter, which reveals a rather unsavoury character, also says that he came out to New Zealand in 1854.

Content Description A set of glass slides relating to cinema advertising. Three of these coloured glass slides advertise films, one at the Grand Opera House. Another slide is a request for patrons to leave by the nearest exit. The remaining two slides advertise forthcoming recitals by the violinist Jan Kubelik (1880-1940), and the tenor Joseph Hislop (1884-1977), whose concert was to be at the Theatre Royal. Both these slides include portrait photographs of the performers.The name W.W....
