George Cooper diary
Photocopy of handwritten diary titled Diary of a New Zealand trip by George Cooper. Includes details of his voyage to Lyttelton on the Ruahine on 26 April 1955 as well as time spent with the Hardy family in Chrischurch and visits to Pleasant Point, the West Coast, Mt Cook, Hanmer Springs, Akaroa and Timaru. The return voyage to England was via Australia, India, Suez and France, arrivng home on 1 September 1955.
Also includes a photocopied newspaper clipping.

Diary of George Jupp, Taranaki pioneer. Volume 1, 1851-1860, covers the voyage from England to Taranaki, travelling on the Simlah and arriving Oct. 1851, and farming as a colonist. Volume 2, 1860-1869, farming and service in the Taranaki Wars. Volume 3 1870-1879, farming as a successful settler.

George Pope Sign of the Takahe and Harry Ell papers
Papers compiled by George Pope, a cabinet maker, who worked on the Sign of the Takahe during the Depression. He carved the coat-of-arms. Includes press clippings, 1936-1941 and 1961-1966, with sketches of the coat of arms, an heraldic eagle, cat and banner, and photocopies for use.
George Ranald MacDonald letters
Photocopies of letters of George Ranald MacDonald, six letters to his Uncle Guyon and one to Aunt Muriel, mostly concerning his war experiences in France.
One of the letters has a sketch of the artillery the letter describes. The first of these letters is headed Hambleden, the name of the family home in Bealey Avenue. George Macdonald was wounded twice and invalided to England, as these letters tell. They give very vivid descriptions of the war and conditions in France.
