Biography

In 1989, following the amalgamation of a number of wider Christchurch authorities, the Development Group was formed and the Recreation and Promotions Unit was part of this Group. The Unit was responsbile for organising and promoting Council led events across the city. It also included oversight of Sister Cities.

In 1992 the Unit moves to the Metropolitan Services Group and becomes the Leisure and Neighbourhoods Support Unit.
