Biography
The Recreation and Promotions Unit was responsible for organising and promoting Council led events across the city. It also included oversight of Sister Cities. In 1992 this Unit was moved from the Development Group and into to the Metropolitan Services Group and becomes the Leisure and Neighbourhoods Support Unit.
In 1994 the Communications and Promotions Unit forms within the Development Group and in 1996 International Relations roles and functions are created within this Unit. This absorbs Civic ceremonial functions.
