Biography

In 1989 following the amalgamation of authorities from wider Christchurch a new 'Group' structure was put in place at Christchurch City Council. As a result of this restructure the management of building consents and non-Council properties moved from the former City Works and Planning Department into the Development Group and within that the Building Control Unit.

The other functions of the former City Works and Planning Department moved into the Technical Services Group.

In 1992, following another restucture, the Building Control Unit became part of a larger Public Health and Safety Unit which remained as part of the Development Group.
