Biography

Our City O-Tautahi was an exhibition and events centre which operated as a public facing entity of Christchurch City Council. Established in 2002 in the Former Municipal Chambers Building on Worcester Street, Our City O-Tautahi was a publlic information centre and hosted a number of exhibitions including ANZAC and wartime commemorative exhibitions including Return to Monte Cassino, They Are Not Missing – They Are Here and At The Going Down Of The Sun And In the Morning.

Our City O-Tautahi was also involved in the planning and delivery of a number of Christchurch city wide events such as the Festival of Flowers and Heritage Week.

The operational activities of Our City O-Tautahi ceased following the 4 September 2010 earthquake when the Former Municipal Chambers building was damaged and following assessment was deemed unsafe to work in. No alternative function for city exhibitions of this nature hosted by the Christchurch City Council was retained. Some community exhibition functions were established with a new exhibition space upon the opening of Tūranga in 2018.
