Biography
The first Housing and Town Planning Committee was established in 1938 after being split from the Bylaws, Finance, Departmental and Town Planning Committee. The committee was reponsible for consideration of planning consents for subdivisions and to administer the Town Planning Act within the City of Christchurch. In 1957 this committee was split and the separate Town Planning and Housing Committees were formed.
