Biography
Christchurch Girls' High School is the second oldest single sex high school in New Zealand. It began as one building on the corner of Hereford Street and Rolleston Ave, but shifted into a new building in Cranmer Square in 1881, with further extensions made over the years along Armagh Street and Montreal Street. In 1986 Girls' High moved to its present site on Deans Avenue in Riccarton.

The records of Christchurch Girls' High School includes timetables, list of free place pupils and a detailed staff list. The list of free place pupils has attached letters from Lyttelton and from St. Michael's Schools, 1919, giving the names of their pupils wishing to attend Girls' High in 1920.
