Biography

Marsden was ordained in 1793. He went to Sydney as a missionary in 1794, and while there grew interested in establishing a mission for Maori in New Zealand. This mission was finally established in 1814 in the Bay of Islands. Marsden visited the New Zealand mission several times between 1814 and 1837. He died in Sydney in 1838.
