Scope and Contents

Autograph letters of famous people of England and New Zealand, mounted in album by A.H. Reed, with his annotations and decorative lettering. Includes some portraits.

The letters are from people famous in artistic, literary, philanthropic, political and other spheres, including one from Queen Victoria herself, to the Duke of Wellington. Letters with New Zealand connections are from Samuel Marsden, Julius von Haast, Joseph Banks,Bishop Harper, Thomas Woolner and Lord Lyttelton.

As well as letters there is an indenture, 1721, a butcher's bill,1688, an inventory 1658 and a French passport, 1818.
