Short stories include portions of 'Heriot' and various untitled works as well as: 'Sailor Jack', 'Tom Tib Goes Shopping', 'Right-Hand Men', 'A Witch in the House' (Aunt Nasty), The Adventures of Little Mouse', 'The Witch Dog', 'Mr Discombobulous', 'The Baby Sitter', 'The Spring Siege'.

Interior of the notebook has notes re characters Sophie, Jonathan, Janine Also includes list of words with definition [unusual words] Also includes a poem beginning "I am not a prig but I say to every tourist... " There are also ideas for three stories- Pig farmer, Testing the biscuit and The bath with claw feet.

Poem / doggerel about Canterbury Public Library staff. Story that begins "Sarah and Emily lived by the sea... " A partial story featuring characters Matilda and Conrad. At rear of volume is a 39 page article or talk written by Margaret about her writing.
