Biography
Jan Kubelík was a Czech violinist and composer, the son of a gardener in Prauge he found great success playing the Violin and went on to marry Countess Anna (Marianne) Julie Marie Széll von Bessenyö Czáky-Szell.

A set of glass slides relating to cinema advertising. Three of these coloured glass slides advertise films, one at the Grand Opera House. Another slide is a request for patrons to leave by the nearest exit. The remaining two slides advertise forthcoming recitals by the violinist Jan Kubelik (1880-1940), and the tenor Joseph Hislop (1884-1977), whose concert was to be at the Theatre Royal.
