Includes Rebecca Sarah Bishop's Recollections of early Papanui, with special reference to St. Paul's Church. The postcard is a souvenir of the New Zealand and South Seas Exhibition, 1889-1890.

Photocopies of handwritten and typescript original reminiscences of pioneer farming at Papanui and at Pleasant Point by Robert George Bishop. Includes "An account of the Bishop family", a family tree, by Miss R.S. Bishop, and a 1940 letter about Bishop's Road.

Bishop's Road was the continuation of Greers Road between Harewood Road and Sawyers Arms Road and was renamed in 1948 because of confusion with Bishop Street.
