Biography
Margaret Staples Hamilton was born in 1914 and grew up in Christchurch. She was the first Canterbury qualified woman architect and practiced officially between 1931 and 1963. She married architect Robert Munro and established the practice of M C Munro with him. Following Robert's death in 1959, she was granted associate membership of the N.Z.I.A in 1960 on the basis of her many years experience, enabling her to practice independently as an architect. Margaret Munro died in 2005.
