Scope and Contents
Photographs of municipal election candidates, largely portrait photographs, from a range of political parties within Christchurch and the North Canterbury district.
Candidates include those standing for Christchurch City Council; Canterbury Health Board; Canterbury Regional Council; Heathcote-Spreydon Community Board; Banks Peninsula District Council; Selwyn District Council and the Shirley-Papanui Community Board.
Political parties represented by the candidates include Labour; Christchurch Action Team; United Citizens; McGillicuddy Serious Party as well as independent candidates.
Includes a photograph of Max Robinson a returning officer with postal votes during a trial in 1989 and of the town crier announcing the start of the 1992 election campaign.
