Artefacts created, collected, gifted and/or used by Christchurch City Council and preamalgamated authorities during the course of their work in both an operational and ceremonial capacity. Also includes artefacts that have been aquired as they relate to specific notable events in the history of the City which Christchurch City Council was involved with such as the 1974 Xth Commonwealth Games.

Arrangement
The artefacts in this series consist of objects transferred to the Christchurch City Council Archives. These artefacts relate to Christchurch City Council as well as pre amalgamated authorities. These have been grouped together to from a single series due to their object status and use restrictions on some items.
These artefacts have been listed as they have been located and are therefore not in chronological order or by authority. It is anticipated that fuether items will be added to this series in the future. Agent records have been used to connect items to their associated authority.
