Scope and Contents

Negatives from inspections of properties by the Building Inspectors from the Buildings Division of the City Works and Planning Department at Christchurch City Council up until end of 1989. From 1989 this became part of the Building Control Unit. The negatives are in labelled envelopes which include the film number, total number of photographs taken, location of the property pictured, date and which inspector took the photographs. Some descroptions include details of why the inspection was carried out, however many do not include this information.

The negatives are labelled with the film number they correspond to and feature interior and exteriors of the properties.
