Biography

In 1994 the Communications and Promotions Unit forms from the former Leisure and Neighbourhoods Support Unit. This sees the unit move from the Metropolitan Services Group back to the Development Group. This Unit was part of the Development Group from 1989-1992.

The Unit was responsbile for organising and promoting Council led events across the city. It also included oversight of Sister Cities.

In 1996 International Relations roles and functions are created within this unit. These new functions also include the management of Civic ceremonies. In the same year the Communications and Promotions Unit moves to the newly created Policy Group.
