Biography
The Policy and Finance Committee was established in 1972 from the former Development, Finance and Electricity Committee. The committee was responsible for co-ordinating the activities and reviewing the finances of of operating committees; to determinte prorities for capital works projects; prepare and review capital budgets; consider proposed significant expenditure; city development and planning including transportation studies and off-street parking facilities; consider proposed by-laws, policies affecting special projects such as the Commonwealth Games 1974; negotiate industrial agreements; staff salaries and wages; staff regulations and staff training.
