Biography
The Christchurch City Council committee structure changed in 1989 following the amalgamation of smaller Councils into Christchurch City Council. It also saw some decision making transfer to newly established Communtiy Boards across the city. The Environmental Committee was established in December 1989 from the former Property and Promotions Committee. The Environmental Committee continued until 2001 when the functions of the committee split into the Arts, Culture and Heritage Committee, Parks, Gardens and Waterways Committee and the Regulatory and Consents Committee.
