Aldred family papers
The papers of the Aldred family include correspondence, photographs, postcards, press clippings and posters. The majority of this collection are letters, with two written in Māori. Most of the letters are by Arthur Aldred, writing from Tonga to his wife in New Zealand during the course of the First World War.

These scrapbooks were compiled in part by Mr. Shepherd's daughter, Mrs. W.D. Kerr, of New Brighton.
Alexander William Bickerton papers
The papers of Alexander William Bickerton includes booklets written by Professor Bickerton, chiefly on astronomy, 1879-1923. Also correspondence, bibliographies and other papers (1960-1961) gathered by Mr. R.N. O'Reilly, Chief Librarian of Canterbury Public Library, for a planned bibliography of Bickerton's works. Included are two copies of Johannes Andersen's Bickerton bibliography (ca. 1930).
